Ok, it may be a small tax, but it's just more red tape. Why not just increase the stamp duty amount a little instead if they are that desperate for more money? It's not necessarily a tax on investors either, because it is paid up front. Therefore, if your investment ends up being no good, you make a loss on your investment and still have paid the tax! Is this only a NSW state tax? This is just ridiculous, to add another tax on purchasing property!

It’s not necessarily a tax on investors either, because it is paid up front. Therefore, if your investment ends up being no good, you make a loss on your investment and still have paid the tax!
